After selling 500k units in the largest market for music, Wizkid's "Made in Lagos" album has achieved a new record in America. The record was published in 2020 and received a warm reception from listeners all around the world, ensuring that it would go down in history as the biggest African album.

He included musicians such as Burna Boy, Tems (who gained a bigger audience as a result), HER, Ella Mai, and others. The album's song "Essence," which peaked at number eleven on the Billboard Hot 100, also became the highest-charting single by an African performer.

It also made history by becoming the first African album to reach the top ten on the Spotify Global Albums chart. Nine days after its release, the album reached and even exceeded 100 million plays across five platforms, an unusual milestone for an Afro-pop artist.

"Made in Lagos" has reportedly sold over 500,000 copies in the US, marking Wizkid's first-ever sales milestone.
