2022 MTV EMA Awards: Burna Boy, Tems and Ayra Starr Nominated

The Nigerian trio of Burna Boy, Tems, and Ayra Starr are up for the Best African Act award. They will be up against Tanzanian vocalist Zuchu, South African musician Musa Keys, and quickly emerging Hip Hop talent Black Sherif from Ghana.

Along with Baby Keem, Dove Cameron, GAYLE, SEVENTEEN, and Stephen Sanchez – Tems, a singer from Nigeria, was nominated for the Best New Artist honor.

Harry Styles received the most mentions among the artists in the MTV EMAs 2022 nominations, receiving seven accolades, including Best Artist, Best Song, and Best Video.

Taylor Swift received seven nominations, including Best Pop Artist, Best Artist, and Best Longform Video. With five nominations each, Nicki Minaj and Rosala are tied.

The MTV EMAs will take place in Düsseldorf in 2022 at the PSD Bank Dome in Germany. The award event will be live on MTV on November 13 in every country and be shown the next day on Paramount+ and Pluto TV.
